Compare and Contrast
It was very interesting to read the articles: "Is Google Making Us Stupid" and "Is Stupid Making Us Google". Both articles point out how technology and specifically, google, is making people lazy. These articles explain how it is much easier for people of this generation to just go on the internet and google a topic, rather then go to the library and read a book to research a topic. This generation has become so accustomed to skimming articles and finding quick facts instead of studying the old fashioned way. People throughout history strive to make things faster and more efficient, but this generation is being effected greatly by things like google. In the article, "Is Stupid Making Us Google" they emphasize how it is not this most recent generations fault for this way of looking for information, but the fault lies on the teachers who allow them to look up information this way. Now that this generation has become so used to just using google to look things up, they get easily distracted when they need to read longer works. Google has made the students of this generation much more lazy and so dependent on quick answers, that they have lost the ability to read a long work and have the information stick in there heads. Overall, kids now are just not learning as much as they potentially could if they studied and researched the old fashioned way.
