In the article "Talking Up Close" by Tannen, she discusses how men and woman have different perceptions in communication. I thought this to be a good read because it is very relatable. I have had many experiences where a girl and a guy have walked away from one conversation but each thought something different. I very much agree that woman are more concerned with relationships than men. I have also had a lot of experience of this happening. Although I do think that men want power I also think that they can still be concerned with relationships, just maybe not as much as women. I believe that men care they just hide it because people think they shouldn't care.

The article "Children's Culture and Disney's Animated Films" by Henry Giroux was very interesting. I thought it was interesting because it was a different point of view on Disney even though I do not agree with his opinion. He states that Disney is trying to brain wash children and take control over the buyers. I believe that Disney and the people that work there are in it for the sole reason to make children happy and create childhood memories. Every company has the goal to make money so Disney should not be targeted because of how successful they have become. What they are doing works, so why would they stop?

I agree with you that Giroux seemed to be targeting Disney when they are just doing what ever other company in America is doing. I also completely agree that Disney's goal is simply to entertain children and it seems like Giroux is sort of just accusing them of doing something that every company does, just because they have become successful by not always being factual.
