Compare and Contrast

“Is Google Making Us Stupid” and “Is Stupid Making Us Google” had some similarities by both trying to reiterate that the speed of the Internet is ultimately changing how we read. Because there is so much information that we can access constantly, all of the information at once has hindered readers reading the information by only being able to read small bits at a time. I believe this is true because I catch myself doing the same thing by not paying attention to my reading when there is consecutive information that is needed to be read then I tend to pay less attention to what I am reading and more attention to how much longer till I am done reading. However, both articles differ by “Is Stupid Making Us Google” making a statement that there is more speculation that the Internet is making people less intelligent. With this being said, other generations after us will follow in the same footsteps. As for “Is Google Making Us Stupid,” they argue that Google will somehow make us smarter because there is speculation that super computers are making us smarter. Both of these articles present valid arguments because as a younger generation in college, we are used to relying on Google for answering all of our questions and also the internet is somehow making us smarter because it has endless knowledge available to us at all times.
